The GDST Coding League - Rules & Info
Here you will find everything you need to know about the GDST Coding League as well as the rules for the competition.
Information
How many challenges are there? There are a total of 4 challenges - 2 for each key stage
How long is the LEO League for? The GDST Coding League is running from April 2026 - July 2026
Who can take part? All children in Year 7 - 11
How do we know what the challenges are? The challenges can be found on the GDST Coding League challenge page, www.primarycodingleague.co.uk/gdstchallenge
How long do we get for each challenge? You will get a approximately half term for each challenge
When do we have to submit the challenges? The submission date for each challenge is clearly stated on the challenge pack for each challenge pack
The Rules
1. Teams must only submit one project per challenge.
2. Projects submitted after the deadline state on the challenge pack will not be judge, scored or entered for that challenge.
3. Projects that have clearly not been created by a child/group of children will be disregarded.
4. Projects, Project Names and Team Names containing inappropriate, offensive or hurtful material and/or content will be disregarded and the team disqualified from the GDST Coding League for the remainder of the season.
5. All project submissions must clearly state the school and team name the project was created by.
6. Judging and scoring of all projects is solely conducted by the Primary Coding League and decisions will remain final.
7. The Primary Coding League has the right to disqualify any teams participating in the competition at any point that breach any of these rules.
8. Team names must not contain any personal details of any student e.g names. Failure to comply with this will result in any projects submitted under these name types will be disregarded.
